About This Peptide
MOTS-c (Mitochondrial Open Reading Frame of the 12S rRNA Type-c) is a 16-amino-acid Mitochondrial-Derived Peptide (MDP) encoded directly within the mitochondrial genome rather than nuclear DNA.
