SLU-PP-332 is a synthetic small molecule first developed by researchers at Saint Louis University (the source of its name). It works by activating a group of receptors called estrogen-related receptors (ERRα, ERRβ, and ERRγ), which sit at the center of how muscle cells produce and use energy. Switching them on triggers many of the same cellular changes that regular endurance exercise does, which is why early research has described it as an “exercise mimetic.”
